City’s 11-year-old chess player Eshanvi secured 1st place in Karnataka State Chess Championship U-11 held at Mysuru recently and has been selected for Nationals to be held Bhubaneshwar.

She is the daughter of H.S. Nandeesh Preetham and Naidele and a student of ICan School in city. She started her chess coaching with Suresh at Mysore Chess Centre at the age of six and has won several State and FIDE Tournaments.
