Vegetable vendor hacked to death in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A 31-year-old vegetable vendor was murdered by five men armed with machetes, suspected to be from Kadresh’s gang, near flower garden in Cottonpet police station limits on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Shoban, a resident of Cottenpet.

According to the police, around 5:15 pm while Shoban was on his way to the temple, five unidentified men attacked him with machetes and escaped. The passerby rushed him to the nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early Thursday. The police suspect that this was a revenge attack for Kadresh’s murder, which took place a month ago. However, Shoban’s involvement in Kadresh’s murder has not been confirmed yet.

Kadiresh (47), husband of Chalavadi Palya Ward councillor Rekha Kadiresh, and a rowdy-sheeter at the Cottonpet police station, was murdered in broad daylight on February 7. Investigations also revealed that Shoban was in love with a girl and he often use to visit the temple near Anjanappa Garden to see her. However she was not interested in him. The police are investigating the case and trying to ascertain the actual reason behind the murder.
