Submit revised plan in 4 weeks: National Green Tribunal to Mantri Techzone

Bengaluru: The National Green Tribunal (NGT), hearing the case related to Agara- Bellandur, on Monday directed Mantri Techzone to submit a fresh conceptual plan to the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) within four weeks.

The counsel for Namma Bengaluru Foundation (NGT) argued that the environmental clearance for the Mantri realty project has been cancelled for non-compliance with NGT directions.

An NBF media release said that the foundation counsel argued that the clearance was obtained for 72 acres by including encroached lake bed and other private land, while the project area was only 63 acres. “The Project was completely revamped (in the revised conceptual plan) from the point of environmental sustainability,” the release said.

SEIAA will incorporate all the directions and conditions contained in the May 4, 2016 order of the NGT on buffer zones in the fresh environment clearance. The project will resume with the continuous monitoring of SEIAA.

Mr Sridhar Pabbisetty, CEO, NBF said, “SEIAA has done the right thing by revoking the environment clearance for Manti Tech Zone as they did not comply with the NGT’s bufferz one order. We hope that SEIAA will keep all the NGT directions in mind and will not dilute the NGT buffer zone order.”
