Sub-Junior Women Hockey Championship: Assam thrash Coorg 4-0 in finals

The final match of the 8th Hockey India Sub-Junior (Women) National Championship 2018 (B-Division) saw Assam beat Coorg by a commanding scoreline of 4-0 yesterday.

The match saw Assam start the match on the front foot as they made several goal-scoring chances in the opening 20 minutes while Coorg struggled to match their opponent’s pace.

Assam were rewarded for their combined team effort as they took the lead in the 20th minute, when Maxima Xalxo converted an excellent field goal.

In the 35th minute, Assam were on target again as they extended their lead to 2-0 with Munmuni Das finding the back of the net.

The second half belonged to Maxima Xalxo as she converted a penalty corner in the 41st minute and then scored a field-goal in the 59th minute to complete her hat-trick and give her team a 4-0 victory.
