Security beefed up at Soudha as Congress-JD(S) hold protest against BJP

Bengaluru: Security was beefed up in and around Vidhana Soudha on Thursday as Congress party staged a protest in front of Gandhi statue against the Governor's decision to allow the BJP to form the government.

Congress party leaders and workers gathered outside Vidhana Soudha after BJP leader B.S. Yeddyurappa was sworn in Chief Minister. Later, JD(S) leaders and workers also joined them.  More than 400 policemen were deployed at all the gates in Vidhana Soudha to avoid any untoward incident.

During the protest some JD(S) workers tried to stop BMTC buses and created a ruckus near the entrance of Vidhana Soudha.

However, the police dispersed them and restored traffic movement.
