The Apex Court on Friday told ex-minister and mining baron G Janardhana Reddy, who sought permission to visit Ballari to help his son who is appearing for class XII board exams, saying his presence would rather distract him. “Your sons attention would be digressed. It is in the interest of your son only, you should avoid visiting him. He (the son) might think spending some time with you after your presence,” the bench of Justices A K Sikri and Ashok Bhushan told Bina Madhavan, appearing for Reddy.
She said the court has earlier granted permission to Reddy to visit Ballari for daughters wedding and celebrate Dasara and Deepavali. It is for helping the son who is appearing for exams from March 12, she pleaded, pressing for permission to Reddy to visit Ballari. The court, however, dismissed the plea.
Reddy had time and again approached the SC so as to seek modification of the January 21, 2015 order in the illegal mining case involving Obulapuram Mining Company by which he was granted bail but with conditions that he would not visit Ballari, Ananthpuram and Kadapa.
