Mysuru: “It has not been easy to become Chief Minister in the present political environment. I had aspired to be CM, but not this way. I had expected to come to power with the complete blessings of the people,” said Mr H D Kumaraswamy here on his arrival at the Lalitmahal helipad on Wednesday morning, to offer special poojas to Goddess Chamundeswari atop the Chamundi hills, prior to taking oath as Chief Minister. Speaking to reporters he said he would make use of the opportunity to solve the problems of the state and requested the BJP to cooperate with him.
While asserting that his government would fulfill the promises made by the JD(S) in its manifesto and those of the Congress, he urged farmers’ leaders not to indulge in caste politics. “I am not a leader of one particular group or community, but of the 6.5 crore people of the state.” he declared.
As for his working style, he said, “This is a government by the people and for the people. People will not need to take an appointment to meet me. The doors of my house will be open to them from 6am and the door of my office in Vidhana Soudha will be open to them always.”
