Bengaluru: Three trees fell and several areas reported power cuts as a thunderstorm hit the city on Monday evening. C.S. Patil, Director, Metrological Department, Bengaluru, said that there will be light a rainfall in the city and parts of the state till the pre-monsoon season ends. The onset of monsoon in the state is expected to be around June 5 and the rains are likely to spread to all parts of Karnataka four days from then.
“The trees fell in Byatarayanapura Double Road, Boopasandra in Sanjaynagar and J.P. Nagar. Water logging was reported near Le Meridien Hotel,” said a BBMP operator at the control room.
Currently, the city and several parts of the state are experiencing pre-monsoon showers. The south-west monsoon is expected to be normal over the state this year, the Meteorological Department said.
