Bengaluru: The much-awaited mango and jackfruit sale cum fair was launched by Horticulture Director Y.S. Patil at Hudson Circle on Tuesday. A wide variety of mangoes will be on sale with a 10 percent discount during the mela. The mela will begin at Lalbagh on May 25. The fair will also be conducted at 22 Metro stations, Vidhana Soudha and during weekends at Cubbon Park. 128 farmers from different parts of the stake, like Kolar, Chikkaballapura and Ramanagara will bring their produce, and are expected to sell over 250 tonnes of mangoes. The fair, organised by the Horticulture Department along with the Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Cooperation, will benefit Hopcoms, farmers and consumers.
