Kodagu limping back to normalcy, affected to get food kit

Mysuru: With Kodagu limping back to normalcy, 211 more people  returned home from the relief centres on Thursday, leaving only 2,045 of the 7,594 who had taken refuge in them, behind.

Telecom networks have been restored and  precautions are being taken to prevent the outbreak of water and vector- borne diseases. Deputy Commissioner P.I. Srividya  revealed on Thursday that  50,000 food kits would be distributed under the Anna Bhagya scheme to the victims of landslides and floods through fair price shops and  vans.

MLA Appachu Ranjan said that he had written to  Speaker Ramesh Kumar requesting him to direct all MLAs to contribute Rs 25 lakh from their respective development funds to Kodagu and he  had acted on his appeal.
