Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah: A vote for JD(S) is a vote for BJP

Vijayapura: “People of the state should know that voting for the Janata Dal (Secular) is like voting for Prime Minister Naredra Modi in the coming election. The clash in the state election is between the communal BJP, opportunistic JD(S) and pro-development Congress,” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Sunday.

Addressing a rally at Indi, near Vijayapura, the Chief minister said that the Bharatiya Janata Party should be rejected as it has resorted to unfair politics for the sake of votes.

A large number of lemon-growers from Indi taluk welcomed the Chief Minister by offering him a large garland of lemons. Hitting back at Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah, who commented that the state government is in a slumber, Mr Siddaramaiah said, “Shah must look at the BJP-ruled, lawless Uttar Pradesh before making comments against the Congress. Shah should know that I was not jailed like him, BJP leader Janardhan Reddy and state BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa. Shah’s drama will not succeed in Karnataka.”

Urging people not to make jailed leader Yeddyurappa the chief minister of the state, he said, “The Congress has fulfilled all the promises made in its manifesto prior to the elections. However, none of promises made by Mr Modi before the last Lok Sabha elections have been fulfilled. Why is he unable to contain inflation? Why has he not got back the black money stashed abroad? Mr Modi was eager to waive off loans of industries and corporate companies, but was hesitant to write off the loans of poor farmers. The Modi-led government has failed to meet the people's expectations.”
