Two persons were killed on the spot after a jeep they were travelling was crushed between a truck and a bus, on the outskirts of the city on Friday morning.
The victims are Kemparaju, (34) and Rakesh, (28), both residents of Gangothri Nagar in Tumakuru. They had come to Bengaluru and were returning home in a Mahindra Bolero when the accident happened near Thippagondahalli near Nelamangala at around 8.30 pm, the police said.
Kemparaju was driving behind a Sea Bird Travels bus. When the bus slowed, he too slowed down. However, the truck coming from behind crashed into the jeep, the police said.
Passers-by alerted the Nelamangala traffic police, who rushed to the spot. They had to use a crane to detach the mangled jeep and extricate the bodies from it.
The police are on the hunt or for the driver who is absconding after the accident.
