It’s shameful to call BJP a party: Siddaramaiah

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah continued his attack on the BJP while addressing Sadhana Samavesha rallies at Malavalli, Srirangapatna and KR Pet in Mandya district, remarking that some people behave like they have taken a contract for Hindutva.

Ending his tour of 29 districts, the CM said in KR Pet, “We are Hindus with humanity and they (BJP) are Hindus without humanity. We celebrate Hanuma Jayanthi and other festivals and Tipu Jayanthi too.”

He added, “BJP is a communal party, which destroys peace in society and harmony by creating conflict between religions and castes in the name of Hindutva. It is shameful to call it a political party. It is against social justice, they do not have trust in democracy and the Constitution, secularism or equality. Yeddyurappa celebrated Tipu Jayanthi when he was in KJP and now he calls Tipu a “Mathaanda”.  Keeping those who have gone to jail by his side, and having been to jail himself, Mr Amit Shah (BJP president) still calls our government most corrupt. We have given scam free governance. Changing the Constitution is their hidden agenda as Shah or PM Modi did not condemn the statement of Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde. He might have made the statement with their permission.  Mr Hegde is ineligible to become even a gram panchayat member. Mr Yeddyurappa has become frustrated, as their Mission 150 got busted during Nanjangud and Gundlupet bypoll (which the Congress won) and has been reduced to 50,” he said.

He said, “The JD(S) has a suffocating atmosphere. It has no internal democracy. That is why the rebel MLAs have quit. The JD(S) will never come to power. They cannot win more than 25 seats. Their intention is that no one should get a majority, so that they can join hands with a party and come to power. That is not possible. Our  party will come to power again.”

Attacking Yeddyurappa, the CM said: “Being from a national party, Yeddyurappa cannot make false statements. He does not have the right to speak about farmers as they said they do not have a currency printing machine to waive off farm loans when they were in power. Now he promises to waive off farm loans if he comes to power,” Mr Siddaramaiah said.
