Grammar, grammar! A manifesto of errors!

BENGALURU: A day after Congress president, Rahul Gandhi, described his party's manifesto as "Karnataka's Mann Ki Baat," a section of senior leaders vented their "Mann ki Baat" to chairman of manifesto committee, M. Veerappa Moily, for compiling a lengthy document marred by incomplete sentences and miss-spelt terms.  The former Union minister, reportedly tipped to take over as head of the party's manifesto committee for next year's Lok Sabha polls, botched up the mission of drawing up the impressive list of poll-eve promises supported with accurate facts and figures.

Speaking to DC, a senior leader remarked that the manifesto for next month's Assembly polls fails to attract any attention. "Any manifesto should have been crisp instead of meandering from one point to another, and was totally disconnected. This makes it a boring read. We could have cut a lot of crap and jugglery of words. Unnecessary expressions and adjectives kill the very spirit of what the party wants to say to highlight issues," the leader said. The leader pointed out the many spelling mistakes which also caught the eye of other senior leaders. "Though Mr Moily gathered information from various quarters, he did not involve party workers much when the manifesto  was being drawn up or even shared with party senior leaders a draft copy before its release. The manifesto remained a secret document which was not the case 2013 polls,” the leader said.
