Bengaluru: Unconfirmed sources are not ruling out resignation by a few newly-elected lingayats of Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) for denial of opportunity for state BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa to become the chief minister despite his party emerging as single-largest.
“Though, it may not happen immediately it is bound to occur in the next few days as they feel blood is thicker than politics. When the electorate has given 104 seats it is improper on the part of the government to enter into an unholy alliance with the Congress is playing its politics of convenience to cover up its defeat”, sources claimed.
The sources pointed out there is lot of opposition within the Congress for forging an alliance with the JD(S)-a party known as ‘opportunist’. They feel that the JD(S) chief ministerial candidate, Mr H.D. Kumaraswamy, will be in a driver’s seat as it was the Congress that went all out to extend its support despite winning 70 plus seats and not the other way round.
