Case against Naga for suicide attempt

BENGALURU: Three days after a suicide attempt during a press meet at the Press Club here, an FIR has been registered against former corporator and rowdy V. Nagaraj alias Bomb Naga.

Attempting suicide is a punishable act under Section 309 of the IPC. Though it has been decriminalised under the new Mental Health Care Bill passed by both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, it is yet to become a law.
