Bengaluru: Two drug rackets were busted in separate raids the city on Thursday and six people have been arrested in this connection.
In the first incident the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested three people from Andhra Pradesh and seized 110 packets of ganja, weighing 223.84 kg from their car, which was being smuggled to Maharashtra.
The accused have been identified as Anumulu Prasad alias Guru, S. Ramakrishna and K. Rajesh. Anumulu is a timber merchant, but is also involved in inter-state drug racket. He had employed the other two accused to drive the car and offered them Rs 10,000 for the trip.
According to the officials, based on a credible tip off, a team intercepted the car at Devanahalli toll gate and found drugs, which were concealed in packets.
During questioning Anumulu told officials that he had sourced drugs from a person in Visakhapatnam and was smuggling it to Maharashtra. He told them that he usually goes to Maharashtra via Telangana, but as the security was tightened due to forthcoming election, he had taken Bengaluru route.

According to the police, based on a tip off, they rushed to BTM Layout 2nd stage, where they found the accused at a deserted place next to Veeranjaneya temple. The police arrested them and seized ganja in their possession.
The police said that Vishnuvardhan and Rajesh used to bring ganja from Kurnool for lower price and then with the help of Junedh Ahmed, sell them at a higher price to the college students and software engineers in BMT Layout and Bannerghatta Road.
