Bengaluru: A high drama prevailed outside Chandra Layout police station on Friday evening, after a 22-year-old woman hanged herself after she was allegedly cheated by a man.
The family and relatives of the deceased laid siege to the police station and demanded that the body be handed over to them.
The police found a death note which said that a man identified as Ravi Kiran, a resident of Hoysala Nagar, had promised to marry her and developed a physical relationship, but abandoned her.
Prima facie, it was revealed that Manjula and Ravi were in a relationship for the last two years. Recently, when Manjula asked Ravi to marry her, he refused and in return offered her money. Manjula had approached the police, but the police didn’t take any action. Upset, over their inaction, she committed suicide early on Friday morning.
A case was registered at the Chandra Layout police station.
