Bengaluru: Driver killed by friends, beheaded

Bengaluru: In a gory incident, a 34-year-old man was killed by his friends and his severed head was dumped near a school, located nearly half a kilometre away in Gangammanagudi police station limits on Thursday night.

The incident took place on the Ramachandrapuram Main Road and the police have arrested one person in this connection. The deceased has been identified as David, a resident of Doddabommasandra in Vidyaranyapura.

He was working as an ambulance driver, but quit his job three months ago and recently began working as a driver on a temporary basis.

The police said the accused, Prasad, a resident of Vidyaranyapura, was David’s friend. The incident came to light on 10.30 pm on Thursday when the police found a decapitated body on Ramachandrapura Main Road. After a night long search the police found the head behind a government school, nearly half a kilometer away from where the body was found.

According to the police, Prasad had developed close relationship with David’s girlfriend and this had angered the latter. They even had a fight over the issue a few days ago. On Thursday night the two along with other friends were partying in an open field in Ramachandrapura.

A fight broke out between them which ended in the murder. The police said though nearby residents had witnessed the fight, they could not see anything clearly as it was raining heavily. A manhunt has been launched to nab others.
