The accused cop, Babu S., 45, is a head constable with the Karnataka State Intelligence. He formed a gang and conducted a fake raid on a drug dealer, Mohammed Nousheen, 22, at his room in a paying guest accommodation.

After negotiations, the gang agreed not to file the case if Nousheen paid them Rs 40,000. The gang took Rs 15,000 in cash and his iPhone, Nousheen said.
