Bengaluru: The Jeevan Bima Nagar police have solved 33 cases of robbery with the arrest of six notorious robbers in different cases.
Gold ornaments worth Rs 70.42 lakh were recovered from them.
From Shivadasan (29), who was booked under several house robbery cases, the police recovered 963 gm of gold jewellery worth Rs 28.89 lakh and seized a car, a two-wheeler and weapons used in the crime.
He was arrested from Begur Main Road. He confessed to all his crimes which helped the police solve 19 cases. Another accused, Bhagyalakshmi, 34, who worked as a housemaid and was stealing gold ornaments from her workplace for the past three months, was arrested by the Jeevan Bima Nagar police.
Jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh was recovered from her.
In another case, Nagesh, 32 and Manjushree, 43 who were involved in many thefts were arrested and the police recovered 578 gm of gold worth Rs 16.18 lakh and seized the weapons used in the crime.
The two were involved in 12 cases including eight in JB Nagar, three in Byappanahalli and one in Indiranagar police limits. Sachin and Gawnav, who stole from the same jewellery shop that they worked for, were arrested and 400 gm of gold jewellery recovered from them.
